Silipigno's self serving rehtoric (take II)

Earlier today, I stumbled upon another press release issued on behalf of Spa City businessman David Silipigno. This one states that Silipigno derives good feelings from work that he has done on behalf underprivileged children in and around Saratoga County. We've seen something like this before.

The press release (published on www.free-press-release.com), references the Northwoods Health System.

Of course, readers probably better-remember Silipigno as the guy whose Broadway offices were raided by the FBI and other agencies back in June. Sill no word on what, exactly they were looking for, however, Silipgino's latest venture, www.shopwurld.com, has apparently "merged into another organization's business model." Whatever that means.

Silipigno has still not been returning phone calls on the mater.

In other news, Silipigno's attorneys filed an action in Ballston Spa today, challenging the assessment of his Meadowbrook home.

The home, at 36 Stony Brook Drive, is assessed at $7.6 million. The action alleges that based on market value estimates, the assessment should be $2.1 million. The assessment had previously been challenged before the Board of Assessment Review, which denied a request for an assessment change.

So, even if www.shopruld.com is gone, it's good to see that Silipigno still has the funds to challenge his home's assessment.

As the Wurld turns

Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says there may be a connection between a new shopping Web site in Florida and the Wurld Media Inc. case.

Former Wurld Media chief executive Gregory Kerber was sentenced Thursday to up to three years in prison for stealing $32,000 from the former Internet startup.

Murphy now believes there may be connection between Wurld Media and a Saratoga Springs Internet shopping site called ShopWurld that recently closed down after its offices were raided by the FBI.

ShopWurld was started by Saratoga Springs businessman David Silipigno, who pleaded guilty six years ago in a mortgage fraud case.

Based on letters the judge received for Kerber’s sentencing, Murphy says Kerber and Silipigno may have been involved in creating the new site. He’s notified the FBI and officials in Florida.

“I think it goes beyond our jurisdiction,” Murphy said.

Kerber’s attorney, David Gruenberg, says the idea that Kerber was involved with ShopWurld is untrue.

Speaking of assessments, the city has assessed the Riggi's macmansion at only $6,000,000. Published reports have valued their property at between $22,000,000 when it was first built and now valued at $32,000,000.
Does anyone know what the taxes would be for 32 million.
With that money we could save some city workers jobs!
