City Center Demonstration

I apologize for the lack of a post today. I did write something, posting it briefly around 5 p.m., but it was pulled down on instructions from above, in the interest of preserving continuity between our print and online editions.

Don't forget that today is CSEA's rally in front of the City Center at 3:15 p.m. The protest is over the stalled contract negotiations, and is expected to draw a crowd of several hundred, including a large rat.

How does scirocco feel about the contract demands of the dpw unit of the csea,is he in favor or against?Or will encourage them to attend another city council meeting where they can threaten the taxpayers again. There behavior is a direct failure of his leadership, time for a change.

Scirocco is not involved in the labor negotiations, and therefore has never seen fit to give a sense of his position on the union's demands.

Clearly, we know that he is against lay offs.

He's the dept. head, what does he have a gag order on himself,if mctygue was in office you'd be asking how he felt about the unions contract demands and about their unruly behavior in public, stop protecting scirroco he's been complaining about the labor attornies and he's told dpw employees it's the mayors' fault and not his, where's the leadership.

Andrew, Skippy most certainly is involved in negotiations. He attended a union meeting and blamed the mayor for the breakdown in negotiations and this was a factor encouraging the demonstration and lets not forget the riot at the council budget meeting. If he had any common sense at all he should have felt embarassed yet he made no attempt to quell his out of control employees. His silence spoke loud and clearandif there was any real leadership in the Republican party he would be removed from the ticket because of his "snake in the grass" tactics. He fails to grasp the scope of the city's fiscal crisis AND BRINGS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the council table. People with normal intelligence are aware of this.
