WOW! Joanne Yepsen wasted 6:45 seconds of my life. She didn't support a single fact, and could not have been more vague. I don't know what's worse, that she couldn't tell us anything concrete about what she plans to do, or that she couldn't tell us anything concrete that she accomplished at her current post.
Tell me she doesn't remind you of this guy though .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6DRCKyKaas
Wait, roy works for the bank because he has to make a living???? Correct me if i'm wrong, doesn't he make almost $100,000 a year as a senator??
Today's City budget observation.
Ivins proposes to eliminate the Public Safety emergency dispatch system, BUT he has quietly budgeted $44.009 PLUS fringe for an NEW job in his department, a account clerk.
Imagine. $44,009 plus for a clerk title. Not bad.
Meanwhile, back in the mayor's office, the budget calls for a NEW Human Resources title at $48,617 plus, AND a another NEW job, a account clerk at $30,433 plus.
The public and Public Safety must request that these titles be removed from the proposed budget. Total savings: about $160,000 including benefits.
Both finance and the mayor's office are more than adequately staffed now even with the retirement of the $60,000 plus telephone operator and the $60,000 plus legal secretary.
Tomorrow a look at the city attorney's budget and its overruns.
Anon #3, you're doing great work. Call me, 583-8729 ext. 219.
tell me what Joanne has brought to the table to Saratoga Springs except for her sel serving blabbering speeches that she hopes people will nod off after the first 4 minutes. Her record speaks for itself as Roy Mc Donalds does. He is a proven leader who gets things done and one good guy we should keep working for us.
Anon #3 - If Public Safety is concerned about do nothing job titles, why haven't they let stalker cop, Patrick Arpey go yet?
Word is, they have him off the street, but he's still collecting a check. The emails alone, turned over to the police, should be enough to get him suspended without pay.
Patrick, how about taking a ride out to Wilton and getting the criminal complaint? It would make for a FANTASTIC article about how Public Safety spends their money.
Today's (Oct. 16) City budget thought.
According to the proposed 2011 Ivins operating budget, the mayor will OVERSPEND the line item for "outside" attorneys by $110,000 by the end of the year.
That over run alone would pay over 50% of the proposed 2011 Indoor Rec. operating budget.
Ivins is reporting an anticipated $2.8 million 2010 operating budget DEFICIT that will consume the entire City surplus. He has exhausted all "one" time revenues, zeroed out the fund balance and budgeted non-existent revenues to "balance" the 2010 budget.
Now he is really behind the eight ball going into 2011. This is why he proposes to eliminate emergency dispatch services.
Next up, a look at ALL the NEW jobs Ivins and Johnson have in the proposed budget even as they eliminate dispatch.
