City Dems: A quick straw poll
With the two factions of the city Democratic committee still fighting each other tooth-and-nail for control of that body, it seems that nearly every seat in the committee will be contested in a September primary, with both sides of the party fielding candidates. It was suggested to me that some readers might like to know who is on which side. I think this might be interesting, to aid Democratic voters in deciding which side of the fence they'd like to be on.
Here's the question: Are you interested in this? Let me know and we'll figure it out.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are two sides of the "fence" so to speak. There is a small and devoted contingent of so-called progressive (DFA) democrats that have needled their way into the party and convinced a greater number of the dire need to "change" the party. It's pretty easy to pick these folks out too. Just look back in your letters column. The ones spitting venom are the small --and I stress small --splinter group that has poisoned the party.
Their MO is to paint this as an us-versus-them battle, where the other side has shadow Republican candidates they accuse of all sorts of malfeasance. While I'd be interested to hear the justification that drives these folks, I'm relatively certain all you would get would be the same watered down BS they spit up on my blog on a semi-regular basis.
Not to mention, how in god's green earth are you going to interview 96 people? I think you'd be on a slippery slope here that would end with a fair number of candidates feeling slighted.
I would stay out of it. The newspaper should report news and not take sides. Ineveitably, you will give press to one side more than another and that will be seen as taking sides. We can figure it all out on our own if we want to.
