New building inspector?
As-of-yet unconfirmed rumors tell me that the city's building inspector, Lauritz Rasmussen, has been fired as of this morning. Watch www.saratogian.com for complete coverage.

It is true. The deputy mayor strikes again. He did not want to play ball with the Rec. Facility, according to some.
Solution, fire him.
And ???
That's correct, he was fired.
Thanks for leading in today's paper (Wed., 4/22) with the key story about how Mr. Rasmussen stood up to tell his side of the story last night at the City Council meeting. How tragic that a experienced professional can be fired, at once, for simply doing his job to make us all safer! Hat's off to him for having the courage and integrity to do so.
Please continue to ask questions about this incident. It's not the first time Johnson has silenced or fired someone for challenging him.
Mayor Scott Johnson, for some unexplained reason, is desperate to build an indoor recreation facility in a neighborhood where it's not wanted, while spending public money the taxpayers can't afford and ignoring the need to replace the 120 year old police station. Now he's even fired the building inspector who raised the altogether reasonable question of whether the building design is a firetrap. Is the mayor insane, or just plain stupid?
