City Council 2013 — V

Can you look a little deeper into the executive session Johnson took the City Council into in 2011 to discuss amending the water contract with Wilton to provide City water to residential property owned, at least in part, by political operative and former City Republican Chairman Tom Lewis.

As you know that executive session was reserved to the end of a regular meeting when essentially everyone had gone home and the press and public only learned of it last year.

Interesting that he has hurt the City's chances of hosting a casino by railing against the governor for lack of transparency when he has consistently forced the community to rely of the FOIL to gather information.

Many of the projects referenced in the mayor's press release were started by others and, of course, the Rec. Center continues fail to meet his revenue projections.

And what is to become of Sutton? Ah, there's the rub and why is he REALLY not running?

Now it looks like Riffenbury will be the Republican candidate for mayor. As a life long City resident and Republican I will say that if he proposes to keep Sutton as deputy, his chances of election will be diminished.

Best to start with an entirely "clean" slate." She has alienated too many and it will cost Jay. Perhaps Helwig can find a spot for her in the County.

To date there is no candidte for Mayor. Riffenbary won't run and no potentail candidate that has been runored is intending on running. Inside sources satet Ken Ivins will oppose John franck. Funny - one worked for the other without discosing it to the taxpayers and now they run against each other. Almost a joke that Herrick twisted Ken's arm with a promise of a future position. No candidate for Finance as well. Public Safety has one candidate. Tome Lewis by the way is not Chairman of the Republican Party. Dave Harper is and he'll continue to take marching orders until he gets the judgeship he is looking for.Joanne Yepse will run. She is well qualified with day care centers which the Council seems to be eligible for at times.
