Special council meeting

The City Council is set to convene for a special meeting at noon on Tuesday. A full hour is scheduled for the council to hear public comment on the proposed indoor recreation center. The council is set to vote on approving environmental reviews for the project at its next meeting, on Oct. 21. No vote is planned for Tuesday. Mayor Johnson scheduled this meeting after a public outpouring of reactions to the project — both for and against — at the last City Council meeting.

So, go out and be heard, Tuesday, at noon.

Does anyone else find the timing of this public comment period to be cynical? Noon - 1 PM on a weekday? GIve me a break... so here's a major decision and we can't get an evening time slot to make it possible for folks to be there?

Another example of poor leadership....

Noon ????

Might as well have the comment period at three o'clock in the morning.

Maybe a few bankers will attend....

While I'd love to jump aboard the 'bad government' train here, you guys are crazy if you think there hasn't been ample time to speak out about the rec center. Criticize him for the right reasons(not finding a way out of this debacle), and not the wrong(continuing these cyclical public hearings).
