Karam's motivation
As you'll read in Thursday's Saratogian, Joy Karam, Department of Public Works employee in the process of being sacked for stealing about $22,000, is one of about 100 property owners who have had a lien placed on their property, after failing to pay 2007 property and/or school taxes. While we still don't know what she was buying that was costing so much, it's clear that Karam was either in some kind of deep economic trouble, or she was into something very, very expensive.
Either way, we begin to get an insight into her motivation...

Dear Cub Bernstein...Insight....how amazing you should have this illumination. What happened in the Karam incident is tragic and it's happening all over with the sour economy. It's not the first and it won't be the last. Your quick condemnation, snide remarks linking the former administration and their business associates in your article and implying that some of this money may have been donated to a political campaign or even drugs with no investigation show your bias, ignorance and total lack of any journalistic capability or ethics....if you have ever heard of that word. In our judicial system you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. You probably aren't aware of that either.
anon 5:39, my thoughts exactly.
