Blotter for Jan. 10, 2013

9:38 a.m. Reports of a lost male Golden Retriever. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Golden Retriever that was returned to a fenced area yesterday (see yesterday's blotter) by the PD? Maybe it was "returned" to the wrong yard?

9:49 a.m. Caller states pictures missing from his wall.

4:35 p.m. Vehicle ran over a stop sign and left.

5:26 p.m. A wallet was found on Henry Street, if anyone is missing one.

6:56 p.m. Congress Street: White male in flannel shirt "disruptive and abusive" to customers at business, possibly intoxicated. Gone on arrival.

8:48 p.m. Ballston Avenue: Black male in the beer eisle, intoxicated, "disruptive and bothering customers." Police sent him on his way (wonder if he knew flannel shirt?).

10:16 p.m. Broadway: A hispanic female walking down the middle of the road, yelling at people. Mental health issue, police said in the blotter, and they brought her to the ER. We were on the scene for this one (sorta). Actually, former County Reporter and current Phantoms and football reporter Michael Cignoli spotted this last night and texted in some details.

He said the police officer was trying to get her under control and calm her down last night when she ripped away from the female officer, opened his cruiser's door and hopped inside behind the wheel.

The officer had to pull her out and put her in the back seat, eventually bringing her to the ER, but it just goes to show that the blotter doesn't ever really give the whole picture. In this case, the blotter entry was about three incomplete sentences long.

6:53 a.m. Woodlawn Avenue: reports of a male sleeping in the stairwell of the Woodlawn Avenue Parking Garage. I've talked to police and this is apparently a regular issue, since it is enclosed and somewhat heated. I may be writing a story about this in the future.
