You have done an incredible job of turning this blog into a comprehensive resource for the tons of raw information on local issues. But it comes at the cost of making it like a stock ticker-- You move so fast that the news cycle dictates that you can't get a lengthy reader discussion off the ground.
THAT may be a GOOD thing, especially if it is your goal to keep your readers up-to-speed in this hectic election cycle.
What is LOST is the chance to get some informed discussion going on such vital issues you've hit here... like the issue of layoffs at DEC, Troy taxes, and what we may face here.
But certainly those stories WILL emerge at City Council and in your front-page coverage. And the comments WILL come fast and furious as ever.
So the sum game-
YOU are putting immense TIME into this, and THIS reader likes it. But I'd look at your "hit count" to see if the public prefers Running Insights over Rowdy Blogger*barfights.
